Dean Xenick has over twenty years of experience as a civil trial attorney. He concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, defective drugs and products, Mass Torts (Multi District Litigation), insurance litigation, business litigation, complex commercial litigation, general civil litigation and legal malpractice. Having worked for one of the largest insurance defense firms in the state of Florida for 10 years, where he was a junior partner, Mr. Xenick has unique insight on how to handle personal injury cases against insurance companies. Mr. Xenick handles cases in Florida state and Federal courts, in addition to several federal courts across the United States in Multi District litigation matters.
Mr. Xenick is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator for circuit civil court matters, including personal injury, wrongful death, business cases, insurance disputes, commercial cases, legal malpractice and general civil litigation matters.
Mr. Xenick was elected to the Palm Beach County Bar Association Board of Directors in 2013 where he was elected to three consecutive terms. He served as President of the Palm Beach County Bar Association in 2020-20121 during the Covid-19 pandemic, one of the most crucial times for the Association. He is also an Emeritus member of the Craig S. Barnard Inns of Court, a nationwide organization whose mission is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills. Mr. Xenick is an active member of the Palm Beach County Justice Association, the Florida Justice Association, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the F. Malcom Cunningham Bar Association, and the Young Lawyers and North County Sections of the Palm Beach County Bar Association. Prior to his election as a Palm Beach County Bar Association Director, Mr. Xenick served on various Palm Beach County Bar Association Committees, including the Judicial Relations Committee, Professionalism Committee, Circuit Civil Practice Committee, Personal Injury/Wrongful Death CLE Committee, and the Bench-Bar Committee. In 2012, Mr. Xenick co-chaired the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s annual signature event, its Bench-Bar Conference, a day long conference of over 1300 judges and lawyers.
In 2018, Florida Bar President Michelle Suskauer appointed Mr. Xenick to the Florida Bar’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee (DIC), where he served on the inaugural Executive Council Subcommittee. He also served on the Voluntary Bar Leadership Grants Subcommittee for DIC. In addition, in 2011 Mr. Xenick was appointed by then Florida Bar President Scott Hawkins to the Florida Bar’s Code and Rules of Evidence Committee, where he served two three-year terms as a member.
Mr. Xenick’s Multi District Litigation (MDL) experience includes being appointed to the Third Party Discovery Committee in the national coordinated litigation for MDL 2666, In Re: Bair Hugger Forced Air Warming Devices Products Liability Litigation in Minnesota, in addition to his recent appointment to the Science and Causation Expert Committee in the national coordinated litigation for MDL 2740, In Re: Taxotere (Docetaxel) Products Liability Litigation in Louisiana. Mr. Xenick also handles several MDL cases for clients throughout the United States, including for those clients harmed by defective hernia mesh, prosthetic hips and knees, the chemotherapy drug Taxotere, and IVC filters, among others.
Mr. Xenick is A/V Rated Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, a significant rating accomplishment and a testament to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence. Mr. Xenick is married with three children. He is a native Floridian, having been born and raised in Tampa, FL. Mr. Xenick is actively involved in the Palm Beach County community, including volunteering as a youth soccer coach in the Palm Beach Gardens youth soccer league. He has also served on the Highballs and Hibiscus Host Committee, benefiting the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation, and has served on the host committee of Arthur’s Jam, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
